Encore maintenant, je me pose la question du « Mais pourquoi ? Ai-je mis autant de temps à vous présenter His Clancyness ?… » La réponse que je pourrais vous donner là, immédiatement, sonnerait des plus obscures, comme fuyante, et je m’abstiendrai donc de vous en expliquer les raisons. A l’écouter encore et encore tous les ingrédients sont réunis pour le voir figurer sur le DS. De belles mélodies, une voix posée… On dira que c’était par snobisme mal placé, il ne m’en voudra donc sûrement pas si je poste 4 titres au lieu des 2 habituels. Mr Clancyness je suis des vôtres… Et sur Secret-Furry Hole !

I was talking about insouciance, perhaps a little arrogance. Using reverb instead of vocal range when there should be some real emotion to go with the lyrics. (Singing sometimes so the note doesn’t hit the beat, for example, too.)
The singer sounds (drawl, style, inflection) like someone to whom things — including social and sexual experiences — have come easily, maybe with a bit of disdain, no? The way his voice falls off a bit when he sings « dear » — like, does she matter?
