Le petit génie Ryan Schmale aka That Ghost, la vingtaine, a l’Amérique dans le sang. Une certaine Amérique, bien évidemment. Lumineusement sombre et en marge. L’Amérique des bleds paumés et des bords de route. Get It and Get Out, son miraculeux dernier EP regorge de chansons shoegazabilly pleines de cambouis (Drag Down). Des chansons garage-pop qui exhalent le psychédélisme en descente d’acide (The Roof) et qui squattent nos têtes comme on pouvait prendre une chambre à l’année au Chelsea Hotel (The Red Bow).

Get It and Get Out est une aire de repos viciée. Un mouroir pour des chansons de Times New Viking qui ont déjà eu largement leur compte d’Americana crasseuse dans l’Ohio et qui viendraient passer leurs derniers instants et pousser leur dernier souffle (Shouldn’t Leave the Estate). Cette Amérique restera encore pour longtemps sur son piédestal.

Little genius Ryan Schmale aka That Ghost, twenty years old or so, has America in his blood. A certain America, of course. Lightly dark and in the fringe. America made of towns in the middle of nowhere, on the road side. Get It and Get Out, his miraculous last EP is full of shoegazabilly songs covered with dirty oil (Drag Down). Garage-pop songs that smell psychedelism after a acid trip (The Roof) and squat in our heads like people who used to stay in Chelsea Hotel for a year (The Red Bow).

Get It and Get Out is a corrupted rest area. An old people’s home made for Times New Viking songs which have already enough with dirty Americana in Ohio, and would spend their last moments and breath their last breath there (Shouldn’t Leave the Estate). This America will stand on its pedestal for long.
