La voix de la canadienne Brooke Manning aka LOOM me ferait presque oublier que le cœur a prioritairement la fonction d’éjection du sang et pas celui de battre la chamade sans avoir le temps de vider le trop plein. Mon sang est néanmoins chargé de ses intonations, coulant et venant irriguer chaque cellule assoiffée de vie. Citant « Jesus and Mary Chain », on est loin en écoutant LOOM de ces compositions shoegaze. Pourtant l’on ressent rapidement la douleur d’une complainte à travers ses mots, ses accords.

Brooke compose essentiellement chez elle, dans sa chambre. S’enfermant parfois pendant plusieurs heures, plusieurs jours pour trouver, se retrouver, composer, se décomposer. Enfermer son intérieur dans ses titres qui renferment également les clés pour en sortir… Douce prison, j’ai aimé votre capture !

My blood is nonetheless filled with her tone, floating and irrigating each cell eager with life. By quoting Jesus and Mary Chain, one is far from these shoegaze compositions as one listens to LOOM. However, we quickly feel the pain of a lament of words and chords.

Brooke is mostly composing at home, in her bedroom. Shutting herself up for several hours, sometimes several days, to find inspiration, herself, compose, unveil. Closing her self in those songs containing the keys to get out…Sweet jail, I loved your capture !
